RENTING NON-STOP SCAFFOLDING

Non Stop Scaffolding for Sale or Rent. Crank-up scaffolding. Elevated-platform scaffolding
Non-Stop Scaffolding on Radius Wall

At Southwest Scaffolding, we have over 1,000 lineal feet x 35 feet high of Non-Stop scaffolding available for rent nationwide. Non-Stop Scaffolding is also called crank-up scaffolding. One working platform is assembled and climbs via a series of winches on a series of towers. This scaffolding will absolutely save you labor money on a large project and will also increase your quality since the platform level can be adjusted to exactly the right position for the workers instead of 6’4″ or greater intervals. The advantage of Non-Stop over FRACO or other type of mast climber is its price and adaptability. It is much lest expensive than a mast climber but will still reach great heights while providing an efficiency advantage over frame scaffolding. It is also more easily adaptable to odd building shapes, inside and outside corners.
Local rentals are either picked up by the customer or delivered by our trucks for an extra fee. Long-distance rentals are trucked on 40’ trailers. A typical 40′ trailer will carry approximately 275 ft. x 36 ft of Non-Stop and 250 boards. Additionally, we offer free shipping for rentals of 200 feet or more for 5 months or more. Below is a typical long-distance rental load. We recommend taking a picture of the scaffolding on the truck when it arrives on your project so you can see how it racked and loaded and be able to duplicate that when the project is complete. In addition, if you are mixing our rental Non-Stop Scaffolding with your scaffolding, please note that our scaffolding is marked with a different color on the sides.

Scaffold Tags for Sale

Make safety a top priority and keep your scaffolding OSHA compliant with our scaffold tags.

Scaffold Tag - Green
Green Tag – Front
Scaffold tag, green tag back
Green Tag – Back

Our scaffold tags consist of a holder and a green insert. The holder attaches to the scaffold frame and warns people not to use the scaffolding. Once the scaffolding is inspected by a competent person, the scaffolding is then “green tagged” by putting the green insert into the holder. The insert covers the “Do Not Use” warning and lets your workers know the scaffolding has been inspected and is ready for use.
The best practice is to have a competent person in charge of the scaffold tag for the duration of the project. The competent person inspects the scaffolding at the beginning of each shift and right after lunch and places the green insert into the tag. When the crew leaves for the day or takes a lunch break, the insert is removed and the red warning tag remains – telling people it is not safe to use the scaffolding.
These tags are a great way to reduce your liability from other trades using or working on your scaffolding after-hours and/or without your permission. It is also a great system to keep your scaffolding checked for safety hazards and to document inspections should an accident or OSHA inspection occur.
These tags are not explicitly required by OSHA for daily scaffolding use, however, many general contractors require them and we strongly recommend that you use them on your project.

Choosing the Right Frame Style and Type – Frame Scaffolding

Styles of Frame Scaffolding

We carry three different styles of frames: S-Style (Blue), W-Style (Red), and BJ-Style (Yellow). These are the industry standard styles of frame in the United States. The S-Style is interchangeable with Safeway frames, the W-Style is interchangeable with Waco frames and the BJ Style is interchangeable with Bill Jax Style frames. All if these styles have been in use for many decades so their design and functionality is tried and true. Because of this, you should be hesitant to use a scaffolding style that is not one of these styles.
One of the biggest determining factors in choosing your frame style is whether it will match your existing scaffolding. The biggest differences between the three different styles are the leg diameters (meaning they take different size pins), pin hole locations (meaning the location of the pin holes are at different angles in relation to the horizontal axis of the scaffolding frame), and styles of cross brace locks. The pins are what connect the scaffolding frames together vertically and cross braces connect the scaffolding together horizontally.

Safeway-Style Blue Scaffolding

This style our overall most popular style of frame. It fits Safeway Style Frames and is used extensively in the southern and southwestern parts of the United States. The full size frames are 6’4” tall and it takes a 1-7/16” coupling pin (USA-104 Coupling Pin), has pin holes at 45 degrees to the horizontal member, and drop locks to keep the cross braces in place. See our Safeway-Style frames for sale.

Waco Style Ladder Frame Scaffolding for Sale
Waco Style Ladder Frame Scaffolding

Waco-Style Red Scaffolding

This style of frame scaffolding has full size frames that are 6’7” tall and takes a 1-3/8” coupling pin (USA-100 or 103 coupling pins) with pin holes at 90 degrees to the horizontal member, and candy cane style drop locks. See our Waco-Style frames for sale.

Bil Jax-Style Yellow Scaffolding

This style of frame scaffolding has full size frames that are 6’6” tall and takes a 1-3/8” coupling pin (SWS-107) with pin holes at 90 degrees, and C Locks to keep the cross braces in place. We sell Bil Jax style frames by order only. We do not keep an inventory of these on our yard.

Types of Frame Scaffolding

Walk-Thru Frames

Walk Thru Frames are often used when you need a long working platform and the ability to traverse the length of that platform by walking through the frames such as during masonry construction on a long wall. See our walk-thru style frames for sale.

Ladder Frames

Ladder frames are often used in constructing scaffolding towers, interior applications and where more precise adjustments to the working platform height is needed. Ladder frames cam also be used on the ends of a scaffolding platform in conjunction with walk-thru frames. If the rungs on the frames are less than 18” apart, the frame itself is allowed to be used as a ladder per OSHA standards. We usually recommend either a stair tower or separate bolt on ladder system be used for scaffolding access whenever possible. See our ladder frames for sale.

Half-High Frames

Our half-high frames range from 2’ to 4’ high and are often used in interior applications where additional height is needed but where ceiling heights precludes use of a full size frame. See our half-high frames for sale.

Skinny Frames

We carry frames that are 2’ to 3’ wide that are used for stucco, lighter duty applications, in tight spaces, interior applications or where the speed and ease of carrying and assembling smaller frames is a priority over size. Smaller frames also require less decking. See our skinny frames for sale.
We test our frames at Texas A & M to make sure they exceed OSHA standards and the competition. It’ll surprise you how much weight they can hold. See our COMPRESSION TEST RESULTS.

Aluminum Scaffold Board with Plywood Insert

Aluminum scaffold plank with plywood insert
Aluminum/Plywood Board
Our Aluminum/Plywood Scaffold Planks function just like our solid aluminum planks except they have a plywood deck and they cost less. Like our solid aluminum boards, these boards are rated to hold 75 lbs./Sq. Ft. They come in 7′ and 10′ lengths. They weigh a little more than our solid aluminum board and are a little thicker as well.
7’X19″ SWS-1100 35.1 lbs
10″X19″ SWS-1101 51 lbs

Solid Aluminum Scaffold Board

Aluminum Scaffold Board for Sale
Aluminum Scaffold Board
Our aluminum scaffold board comes in three different lengths:
5’X19″ SWS-1106 25 lbs
7’X19″ SWS-1101 30 lbs
10’X19″ SWS-1103 39 lbs
The advantage of these boards is their safety, stability, durability and load bearing capacity. They are rated for 75lbs/sq. ft and can be used in heavy-duty scaffolding applications. They are resistant to corrosion and will last you many years. These boards will also allow you to increase to a 10′ span and still have the load bearing capacity you need. The boards come with replaceable hooks and have a locking mechanism on each end of the board to keep the it attached to the scaffolding frames.
All of our boards have the same width of 19.” It takes aluminum boards to fully deck a set of scaffolding with 5′ wide frames. 42″ wide frames require 2 boards and 3′ wide frame will hold one board. Sometimes aluminum boards are used on outriggers. We have 21″ outriggers that will hold one aluminum board as well as 30″ outriggers that will hold two boards.

Aluminum Scaffold Board For Superior Strength

Aluminum boards have superior strength to wood boards and will last much longer. They make great landing platforms for materials in masonry and stucco applications and we recommend them for scaffolding towers because they stay in place much better than wood boards. The hooks on each end are offset so that these boards can be used to construct a single long scaffolding platform without the hooks overlapping each other.
